When high strength forged steel wheels are needed to satisfy heavy wear or load requirements, choose McKees Rocks Forgings. With our NEW Differentially Hardened™ Wheel process, flange breakage is no longer a concern for older cranes and misaligned crane runaways. Improve the durability of your crane wheel flanges with this new and effective process.
This new Differentially Hardened Wheel technique produces forged wheels with tread and inner flange hardness up to 60 Rc but with ductile outer flanges for increased fracture toughness. These wheels are available in all of the sections that we manufacture as well as to your custom specifications.
